How to Install and Delete Fonts in Windows 10

MS Windows has got a limited number of fonts and some of the desktop applications and graphics applications will be installed with their own fonts. But if you are looking for making your artwork and documents stand out you will need to add some of your own fonts. Windows 10 works with three different fonts which are TrueType, OpenType and PostScript. Installing the Fonts:

In order to install fonts you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to download your fonts from Google Fonts or from any other source and the save them to a folder on your hard drive. If the files are zipped you need to unzip them.
  • Type in “fonts” into the Cortana search box.
  • Now you need to click the Fonts control panel icon which will appear in the result list. A control panel window filled with fonts appears.
  • Now open the folder where you have downloaded your uninstalled files. If the folder is Downloads folder you can get there easily by pressing Windows + E for opening the Explorer and selecting Downloads from the left menu.
  • Now drag the fonts into the control panel fonts window.

Deleting The Fonts:

In order to delete the fonts from Windows 10 you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to open the Fonts window. You can open the fonts by typing in fonts in Windows search box.
  • Now select the font and font family which you wish to delete.
  • Now press the delete key.
  • Now click Yes when you are prompted with a warning.

Working with Hatching or Filling Objects in AutoCAD

AutoCAD is an amazing application which can be used for creating impressive engineering drawings as well as architectural designs. In order to learn how to hatch or fill an object or an area you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to click on Home tab>Draw panel>Hatch.
  • Now from the Properties panel select Hatch type list. Properties panel>Hatch Type list.
  • On the Pattern panel you need to click a hatch pattern or fill.
  • From the Boundaries panel you need to specify the how the pattern boundary is selected:
  1. Pick Points. It will insert the hatch or fill within a closed area which is bounded by one or more objects. With this process you will click within the boundaries to specify the area.
  2. Select Boundary Objects. It will hatch or fill within a closed object like circle, closed polyline or set of objects with endpoints which touches and enclose an area.

The selection method will be retained till you change it.

  • Now click on the area or object which is to be hatched.
  • ON the ribbon make the adjustments as needed:
  • On the Properties panel change the hatch type and colors or modify the transparency level, angle or scale for hatching.
  • On the expanded option panel you can modify the draw order to specify whether the hatch and its boundaries are displayed in front of or behind other objects.
  • Now press enter for applying the hatch and then exit the command.

Drawing a Simple Plate with AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a productive 3D CAD tool which can be used for creating imposing engineering and architectural designs. It is a must have tool for the engineers and architectures. With this tool the productivity has been enhanced to a great degree. In this tutorial you will learn how to draw a simple plate in AutoCAD.   • 1st of all you need to open a new drawing by clicking on New.
  • You need to make sure that the ORTHO mode is ON. (It will be ON when it glow in blue.) Click the icon to turn it ON or OFF or press F8 to toggle.
  • Now type z [space bar]. With this your drawing area will be zoomed.
  • Now activate the line command by click LINE.
  • Now specify the 1st point of the line at 0,0. Type 0,0 and then press [Enter].
  • Now move your cursor towards the right side and then type 8 [Enter].
  • Now move your cursor up side and then type 4 [Enter].
  • Now move your cursor towards the left side and then type 4 [Enter].
  • Now move your cursor up side and then type 4 [Enter].
  • Now move your cursor towards the left side and then type 4 [Enter].
  • For closing the sketch loop you need to type c [Space bar].
  • With this step you will complete creating a simple L-shaped plate in AutoCAD.
