Working with the Text Boxes in MS Word 2007

In MS Word 2007 you can insert text box for drawing the attention towards a specific text or for giving the ability to easily move the text around within a document. Inserting a Text Box:

  • 1st of all you need to select the Insert tab on the Ribbon.
  • Now click the Text Box command in the Text group.
  • Now select the Built-in text box or Draw Text Box from the menu.
  • Now if you select the Built-in text box and then left click the text box which you want to use and then it will appear in the document.

Changing the Text Box Style:

  • 1st of all select the text box you will notice that a new Format tab has appeared with Text Box Tools.
  • Now select the Format tab.
  • Click on the More drop-down arrow in the Text Box Style group for displaying more style options.
  • Now move your cursor over the styles and Live Preview will preview the style in the document.
  • For selecting the style you need to left-click a style.

Changing the Text Box Shape:

  • 1st of all select the text box and a new Format tab will appear with Text Box Tools.
  • Now click the Change Shape command for displaying a drop-down list.
  • Now select the shape from the list.
  • Moving a Text Box:
  • 1st of all left click on the text box and you will notice your cursor becomes a cross with arrows on each end.
  • Now by holding the mouse button you need to drag the text box to the desired location on the page.
  • Now release the button.

Resizing the Text Box:

  • 1st of all you are required to select the text box.
  • Now left click one of the blue sizing handles.
  • Now by holding down the mouse button you need to drag the sizing handle until the text box is your desired size.

Inserting Clip Art in MS Word 2007

MS Word 2007 is a useful and most widely used Word processor and it can be used for creating documents. Many times it is required to add various types of illustrations into your documents for making them more visually appealing. The illustrations include pictures, clip arts, SmartArt and charts. Locating Clip Art:

  • 1st of all you need to select Insert tab.
  • Then click on the Clip Art command in the Illustration group.
  • You will notice that a clip art options will appear in the task pane on the right.
  • Now enter the keywords in the Search for: field which are related to the image you want to insert.
  • Click on the drop-down arrow next to the Search in: field.
  • Now select Everywherefor ensuring the Word searches the computer and its online resources for an image which will meet your criteria.
  • Now click the drop-down arrow in the Result Should be: field.
  • Now deselect any types of images which you don’t want to see.
  • Now click on Go.

Inserting Clip Art:

  • 1st of all you need to review the results from clip art search.
  • Now you need to place the insertion point in the document where you are required to insert the clipart.
  • Left click on the image in the task pane. The clip art will appear in the document.

OR

  • Left click the arrow located next to the image in the task pane.
  • Choose Insert, Copy and any other options on the list.

Closing of Images in Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is an amazing image editing tool which can be used for creating some stellar image effects. Once you are done with the editing or viewing of the images in Adobe Photoshop you can close the images in various different ways. In order to close the image on Photoshop you need to follow the following simple steps.

  • First of all you are required to go to the File menu located in the Menu bar at the top of the screen.
  • Once you have clicked the File menu a dropdown menu will appear where you need to select Close.
  • The above mentioned tasks can also be completed by pressing Ctrl+W through your keyboard.
  • A single image can also be closed by clicking on the small “X” button in the document tab.
  • If there are two or more than two images are opened in Adobe Photoshop you can easily close these images one by one or all at once. For closing the multiple images all at once you need to follow these simple steps.
  • 1st of all go to the File menu and then select Close All.
  • If you are in a hurry you can opt for a much quicker way by simply pressing Ctrl+Alt+W from your keyboard.
  • You may close an image with some unsaved changes in it and for that you are required to follow these simple steps.
  • 1st of all you are required to go to File menu and then select Close from the dropdown menu. (You can perform the same action by pressing the X icon in the document’s tab)
  • Once you have clicked the Close option, Adobe Photoshop will ask you whether to save your work or not.
  • Click on Yes if you want to save the changes or click No if you don’t want to save the changes.
