Replacing Edge Browser with Internet Explorer in Windows 10

MS Windows 10 has enhanced the browsing experience with the Edge browser but if you are not comfortable with the Edge browser and want to stick to Internet Explorer of Windows 7 you can easily replace Edge browser with Internet Explorer as a default browser in Windows 10. Internet Explorer is the default web browser of Windows 7 and many people in the world are used to IE for web browsing. You can also learn about Installing New Start Menu in Windows 10. In order to replace Edge browser with Internet Explorer you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to unpin the Edge browser and for that you need to right click on the Edge browser taskbar icon and then select Unpin.
  • Go to the Search bar and search for the Internet Explorer by typing in Internet Explorer in the search bar.
  • Now right click on the Internet Explorer icon and then select Pin to Taskbar. The Internet Explorer logo will appear on your taskbar.
  • Now launch the Internet Explorer.
  • Select the Internet Options from the menu.
  • Now you need to navigate to the Programs tab and the click “Make Internet Explorer the default browser.” With this a new window with a full list of programs will appear.
  • Now select Internet Explorer in the left pane and then click “Set this program as default.”
  • Now click OK and you will replace the Edge browser with Internet Explorer browser in Windows 10.

Installing a New Start Menu in Windows 10

Windows 10 has brought back the much talked about Start menu which was not included in Windows 8. Windows 8 was criticized for not including Start menu. The Start menu included in Windows 10 is not similar to the one in Windows 7 and many people out there are not liking this new looks of Start menu. The Start menu included in Windows 10 has not got list of icons and folders in fact the new Start Menu has got set of flashy but space wasting live tiles on the right side and frequently used applications on the left side. You can easily add live tiles but you can not pin simple icon on the left side like you can in Windows 7 as well as XP. Fortunately there is a way out as you can install a 3rd party Start Menu which looks and functions the way you want.   • 1st of all you need to download and install Classic Shell version 4.2.2 or higher.
  • During the installation process deselect Classic Explorer and Classic IE.
  • Open the Classic Start Menu settings .
  • If the settings are not already checked you need to check Show All Settings.
  • Now navigate the Start Menu Style tab and choose Windows 7 Style.
  • Now download the Windows 7 Start button image in order to make the Start Button look more authentic.
  • Now navigate to the Start Button tab and select Custom button and browse to the image.
  • Navigate to the Skin tab and then select Windows Aero from the pulldown menu.
  • Now click OK and you will get classic Start menu of Windows 7.

Turning OFF Notification and System Sounds in Windows 10

Windows is an operating system that is the most widely used all over the world.   • 1st of all you need to click on the notification icon located at the bottom right of the screen. The notification icon is at the fat edge of the toolbar next to date and time.
  • Click on All Settings icon located at the bottom right.
  • Now select System from the main Settings screen.
  • Now select Notifications and actions in the left sidebar.
  • In order to turn the Notifications OFF completely, slide the Get notifications from apps and other senders button to the OFF position.
  • In order to be more selective with your notifications and not disable them completely scroll down to the Get notifications from these senders section and decide what your are able to tolerate: sounds, banner or neither from each option.
