There is little time for him to work out how he fits in before the 33rd are marched to Seringapatam where Colonel Wellesley prepares for war against the Tippoo, a powerful prince who hates the British. Before the city can be stormed the colonel needs to understand its defences and Xerxes discovers the reason why the sergeant has taken such an interest in him. Now he must use everything he has learned to play the spy, with the price of failure being a slow, painful death. The series, Duty, Glory and Honour, continues to follow the changing lives of Darius and Xerxes as they fight for survival against the powerful French emperor and a mighty Indian potentate, and is Hornblower, Aubrey and Sharp all rolled into one.
